2026 Spring into Horror Readathon - This scary month is over, but the scary continues (mwahahaha)

Another readathon has come to an end. I hope you were able to get some good scary reading in. Unfortunately, I have been in a reading funk since this year started. I'm 11 books behind on my yearly reading goal. Yikes! I'm hoping May will be the turning point for me. That being said, I did start Marla by Jonathan Janz which I'm really enjoying. If you like horror, I highly recommend his books. As stated in the post title, the scary continues for me. Next up...The Siren of Groves Peak by Glenn Rolfe.

Next month is Sci-Fi Summer (during which you can also read fantasy). I'll post the sign-up by the middle of the month. I hope you will join us! We're going to do a Juneteenth 3-Day Readathon in lieu of a 24-Hour Readathon. A good time to focus on black fantasy/sci-fi authors, though not required.

2026 Spring into Horror - Mid-Event Check-In and tomorrow is the 24-Hr Opposite Readathon!

The partial reading slump continues. *frown* I hope your reading is faring better.

I'm hoping to get in some quality reading time this weekend with our 24-Hour Opposite event starting tomorrow at 8:00 pm (until 8:00 pm Saturday). I'm also participating in Dewey's 24-Hour which starts Saturday morning, and the Escape for 24 hours event that runs from 8:00 pm tomorrow until 8:00 pm Sunday night. A packed readathon weekend. Since we can't have a second Halloween, we get to have Spring into Horror! I love this event, second only to FrightFall. Plus, April 30 is halfway to Halloween!

We start at 12:00 am eastern time on April 1st and end at 11:59 pm eastern time on April 30th. (There is a handy link to a time zone converter in the sidebar menu.) I hope you're ready to get your scary on! Guidelines for the readathon can be found HERE or you can access in the sidebar menu. Any information you need about our readathons can be found there.

2024 Spring into Horror Readathon - Wrapping up

Another readathon at an end. They really do go by too fast.

I hope everyone enjoyed the readathon. Also, sending out a big thanks to those who joined in on the 24-Hour readathon this past weekend. 2024 Winter's Respite Readathon - That's a wrap

Is that spring I hear around the corner? Not too much longer. I'm a fall/winter girl, but trying to stay more positive about the warmer months. Wish me luck!

I hope everyone enjoyed the readathon. Also, sending out a big thanks to those who joined in on the 24-Hour readathon on the 17th. Going forward, we are still going to do one 24-Hour readathon during each month long readathon. However, I will designate the date, as they do with Dewey's 24-Hour event. What a fast month April was! Of course, on my end, I've been converting my son's bedroom into a study (writing/reading room), but I still managed to squeeze in two really great horror novels. Black Mouth by Ronald Malfi (I keep telling you guys to read him) and a real sleeper that has been lingering on my shelves for years, The Dead Path by Stephen M. Irwin. Sign up for the Spring into Horror Readathon

It's time to get our scary on! I love this readathon because 1) it's horror and 2) we're six months away from October, FrightFall, and Halloween. Yay!

We start at 12:00 am eastern time on April 1st and end at 11:59 pm eastern time on April 30th. (There is a handy link to a time zone converter in the sidebar menu.) I hope you're ready to get your scary on! Guidelines for the readathon can be found HERE or you can access in the sidebar menu. Any information you need about the readathon can be found there. Please do be sure to check the guidelines to make sure you're following along correctly. There are specific rules regarding sign up and wrap up, especially in regards to the giveaway.

The one main "rule" of Spring into Horror is that you must read at least ONE scary book (which can be a thriller, mystery, Gothic novel, or similar for those who are faint of heart). I hope you will indulge the scary beyond the one book, but that is entirely up to you. It is all about the reading after all.

• Since Goodreads stopped the events feature, it has become a bit more difficult to spread the word, and to obtain prize donations. I would appreciate help in spreading the word. Also, if you know anyone (authors, etc.) who would like to donate a prize, have them message me via the contact form in the sidebar menu. Thank you!
• Every readathon, I offer a charity donation prize (to a social justice charity) to one winner. This prize is awarded at the beginning of the readathon. Details on how it works are on the guidelines page. I will also be offering another small prize. Hopefully, I will get some prize donations (see above). If I do, I will post the prize page during the first week of the event.

Spring into Horror Readathon - Wrap-Up
