High Summer Readathon - The End

I hope everyone enjoyed High Summer and that you were able to get a lot of reading in. Thank you all so much for joining me for another readathon!

To wrap up, go to the link for the wrap-up form at the end of this post and fill it out, including a link to your wrap-up (whether it's a blog post, a Goodreads shelf, social media status...anything goes, as long as I can see you did indeed participate). You will also indicate if you want a chance at a prize by selecting yes or no in the form. Be sure to double check that your name is listed in the sign up/starting line linky at this post so you will be eligible for the giveaway. You have until Monday, September 6 at 11:59 pm EDT to fill out the form. I will email the winner within a few days following the deadline so keep a look out in your email inbox (or spam folder, just in case) for an email from my truebookaddict gmail account. September 1st kicks off Something Wicked Fall! The event post is up at Castle Macabre with all the details here. The highlights...a read-along of Victor LaValle's The Devil in Silver, Gothic and horror reading, movie and book reviews, and more! Of course, all this will go along nicely with FrightFall coming up in October. I'll have sign-ups ready for that soon. It's the height of summer, and the hottest time of year, in my opinion. Hope we can spend some time inside where it's cool and get our read on! Are you ready?

Prizes
In addition to the charity prize discussed below, I also offer a small prize at the end of the readathon. However, I've had to make a small change. Unfortunately, Better World Books has changed their free shipping policy and will only ship free with orders of a $15 minimum. So I will no longer be offering that prize, but I will now offer an Amazon egift of $5 to the giveway winner. I apologize for the change.
I did not receive any prize donations so the Amazon prize will be the only other prize for the readathon.

Sign up for the High Summer Readathon!

I apologize for the late signup post. I was on vacation the first part of July and catching up has been...well, I'm sure you can imagine. So, let's get this handled forthwith!

We start at 12:00 am eastern time on August 1 and end at 11:59 pm eastern time August 31. (There is a handy link to a time zone converter in the sidebar menu.) Let's escape the heat and get some great reading in this month. Are you ready?! Guidelines for the readathon can be found HERE or you can access in the sidebar menu. Any information you need about the readathon can be found there. Please do be sure to check the guidelines to make sure you're following along correctly. There are specific rules regarding sign up and wrap up, especially in regards to the giveaway.

Our social media hashtag is #HSreadathon and don't forget we have our outstanding Facebook group and our Facebook Page, and don't forget our Goodreads group and our Instagram. (There are also access tabs in the sidebar menu.)

Some orders of business...

Since Goodreads stopped the events feature, it has become a bit more difficult to spread the word, and to obtain prize donations. I would appreciate help in spreading the word. Also, if you know anyone (authors, etc.) who would like to donate a prize, have them message me via the contact form in the sidebar menu. Thank you!

Every readathon, I offer a charity donation prize (to a social justice charity) to one winner. This prize is awarded at the beginning of the readathon. Details on how it works are on the guidelines page. I will also be offering another small prize. Hopefully, I will get some prize donations (see above). If I do, I will post the prize page during the first week of the event.

We now have a Discord server for Seasons of Reading. You can pop in and chat during our events at any time, or even outside of events. We will not be doing live chats, just typing in the text channels. Introduce yourself in the #general channel, and look for the readathon specific channel for the current readathon. Sci-Fi Summer Readathon 2022 - Make it so!

Here we go! I hope you guys are looking forward to this as much as I am. I'm thinking I'll watch Picard and Star Trek: Strange New Worlds this month too. I'm already watching Stranger Things and Obi Wan Kenobi. 

This is a science fiction (or fantasy) only readathon so any books you read for this event should be in those genres. 

I did not receive any prize donations, but I do offer two prizes each readathon. Information on the main (charity donation) prize is below. I will post about the other small prize I'm offering in the mid-event check-in post at the halfway point of the readathon.
