2023 High Summer Readathon - Sign up!

Time for another readathon! One last hurrah of summer reading before school starts again (for kids who do not start in August that is) and wonderful fall arrives.

We start at 12:00 am eastern time on August 1 and end at 11:59 pm eastern time August 31. (There is a handy link to a time zone converter in the sidebar menu.) Guidelines for the readathon can be found HERE or you can access in the sidebar menu. Any information you need about the readathon can be found there. Please do be sure to check the guidelines to make sure you're following along correctly. There are specific rules regarding sign up and wrap up, especially in regards to the giveaway.

Our social media hashtag is #HSreadathon and don't forget we have our outstanding Facebook group and our Facebook Page, and our Goodreads group and Instagram. Some orders of business...

Since Goodreads stopped the events feature, it has become a bit more difficult to spread the word, and to obtain prize donations. I would appreciate help in spreading the word. Also, if you know anyone (authors, etc.) who would like to donate a prize, have them message me via the contact form in the sidebar menu. Thank you!

Every readathon, I offer a charity donation prize (to a social justice charity) to one winner. This prize is awarded at the beginning of the readathon. Details on how it works are on the guidelines page. I will also be offering another small prize. Hopefully, I will get some prize donations (see above). If I do, I will post the prize page during the first week of the event.

Sci-Fi Summer Readathon - Time to wrap-up

Another readathon has rushed by! I managed to finish Subhuman, and I'm just about finished with Brave New World, and The Illustrated Man. 

So, how did the reading go for you?

To wrap up, go to the link for the wrap-up form at the end of this post and fill it out, including a link to your wrap-up (whether it's a blog post, a Goodreads shelf, social media status...anything goes, as long as I can see you did indeed participate). You will also indicate if you want a chance at a prize by selecting yes or no in the form. Be sure to double check that your name is listed in the sign up/starting line linky at this post so you will be eligible for the giveaway. You have until Friday, July 7th at 11:59 pm EDT to fill out the form. I will email the winner within a few days following the deadline so keep a look out in your email inbox (or spam folder, just in case) for an email from my truebookaddict gmail account. The prize is listed here on the mid-event check-in page.
