#WintersRespite #Readathon - We're at the end #wrapup

Another readathon is in the books. See what I did there. lol I hope everyone enjoyed Winter's Respite and you were able to get a lot of reading done. Even if you only got a little reading in, it's still an accomplishment. Be sure to compliment yourselves...profusely.

I apologize for being MIA the latter part of the month. I came down with the flu (despite getting the flu shot...I always do) and I'm just now starting to feel back to my old self again. I swear, it always seems to hit me during a readathon. I couldn't even participate in 24in48 because I was really bad last weekend. Sob.

Remember, our process has changed for wrap-ups. No more linky for wrap-up posts. Fill out the form below and indicate if you want a chance at a prize by selecting yes or no. Also, double check that your name is listed in the sign up/starting line linky at this post so you will be eligible for the giveaway. You have until Wednesday, February 6th at 11:59 pm CST to fill out the form. I will email the winners within a few days following the deadline so keep a look out in your email inbox (or spam folder, just in case) for an email from my truebookaddict gmail account. (Prize page is here)

Once again, thank you for joining me and I hope to see you next time. We have Spring into Horror all month long in April! I'm going to be ready for lots of horror reading by then.

(If you would like others to visit your wrap-up post, please leave a comment below with the link to your wrap-up, or you can visit participants via the starting line post linky here.)

WINNERS - MALLORY (ebook), FRANCES (print)
Norse Hearts by Robynn Gabel - (1) eBook (International) and (1) signed paperback (U.S) - One Two Winners

“This is a historical adventure/romance that even a man can read and enjoy!”

In late 800 AD, Britain, Seraphina is preparing to wed Cecil Allard. Unbeknown to her, he has hired Einar, a Viking warrior, to kill her the night before the marriage. When Cecil reneges on the promised payment, Einar kidnaps her to hold her hostage for ransom.

Seraphina is carried away to the “uncivilized” world of the Vikings only to find an unexplainable connection with the Viking way of life which can be both noble and cruel.

Through this incredible journey, she discovers abilities beyond her imagination and an untapped warrior spirit. However, Seraphina is torn between the land of her birth and a fierce new life with the Vikings. She must make a choice that only her heart can decide.

REVIEWS

“The novel doesn’t gloss over the realities of Viking life but is careful to draw characters with shaded nuances.” Five star - Clarion Review

“Overall, Gabel has constructed a work of historical fiction that’s both faithful to the period and dramatically captivating.” – Kirkus Review

Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Norse-Hearts-Robynn-Gabel/dp/0578404087/

Robynn Gabel had two dreams growing up, writing books and riding horses. In her first two books, she fulfilled them both by publishing her award-winning story about her time with Elvis, a champion Missouri Fox Trotter. However, her continual pursuit of adventure pushed her off into the deeper waters of writing a historical romance novel taking place in the backdrop of the Viking Age.

An adventurer at heart herself she has always been an avid traveler and has held career positions in a variety of fields but Robynn’s calling to write has never wavered earning her prestigious literary awards. In her latest book, Norse Hearts, she draws from a rich treasure trove of experiences and painstaking research to provide not only a historically authentic tale but one with true emotional power only she can bring.

When she is not writing she lives life with her husband Mark in the wind-swept land of Wyoming riding Missouri Fox Trotters, and loving a large herd of children and grandchildren.

The linky below is the same one as the sign up linky. Winter's Respite Readathon - Sign Up #WintersRespite

This is the official sign up for the Winter's Respite Readathon. I am sorry I am WAY late this year. The holiday season took over my life and then I've been under the weather since Christmas day.

We start at 12:00 am on January 1 and end at 11:59 pm on January 31. Times are set for the central time zone so adjust your times accordingly (you can use the link to the time zone converter in the sidebar menu). Of course, like most readathons, the books read must be novels or novellas, adult or young adult are fine, and you can read children's books (as long as you do read some novels too). Note: Non-Fiction is also okay! You DO NOT have to participate the entire month. Join in when you can, start in the middle, end early...whatever works best for your schedule. As with all of my readathons, it will be an event of relaxed reading during which we can personally challenge ourselves and whittle away those ever looming TBR piles/shelves/libraries.

Guidelines for the readathon can be found HERE or you can access in the sidebar menu. Any information you need about the readathon can be found there. Please do be sure to check the guidelines to make sure you're following along correctly. There are specific rules regarding signing up and wrapping up, especially in regards to the giveaway. We no longer use a wrap-up linky and we are now just using the Google form for wrap-ups (since I require your wrap-up link there anyway). That way you don't have to do two steps at the end of the readathon. The wrap-up Google form will be on the wrap-up post instead of the prize page. I will have a yes/no so you can let me know if you're opting out of winning a prize. (If you want to visit people who participated, you can do so via the sign-up/starting line linky. I will have a link to it on the wrap-up post).

As is typical, I will not be hosting any mini-challenges. However, if anyone else would like to host a mini-challenge or giveaway, you are more than welcome. I am also looking for prize donations so if anyone would like to contribute, let me know. Authors, this is a great way to promote your book! (Contact me using the contact form link in the sidebar menu).

Our hashtag is #WintersRespite Also, don't forget about our Facebook groupGoodreads group and check out our Instagram. You can access via the link in the sidebar menu.

Sign up in the linky below. You do not have to do a post now, unless you want to help spread the word (much appreciated). If you don't have a blog, use Facebook, Twitter, Goodreads, Instagram, YouTube...or any social media. Having a blog is not required. Be sure to grab the button at the top of this post (there's also a grab code below the button in the sidebar).

Winter's Respite #Readathon - Wrap Up #WintersRespite

I can't believe it's already over! I'm kind of sad. 😢 Take heart though. We have Spring Into Horror coming all month long in April and SciFi Summer coming the first two weeks in June AND, of course, we always have our Facebook group where we can interact in between time. Feel free to share any reading doings you have going on any time, not just during readathon time.

I'd like to thank you all for joining me. Be sure to add your wrap-up link below and please double check that your name is listed in the sign up/starting line linky at this post so you will be eligible for the giveaway. You have until Sunday, February 4 at 11:59 pm central time to add your wrap-up link and to fill out the form for prize entry. I will draw giveaway winners in the following few days after the wrap-up deadline so keep a look out in your email inbox (or spam folder, just in case) for an email from truebookaddict. (Please be sure to note the system of drawing winners in the giveaway details on the prize page).

I'd like to thank Elyse LeMieux for the generous prize donation.

Give yourselves a big round of applause, no matter how much or little reading you accomplished. It's all about the experience, in my opinion.

Until next time...

A #WintersRespite #Readathon - It's a wrap!

Another readathon has come to an end. I hope everyone enjoyed our new two week format. I know I did! I also hope everyone was able to meet their goals, or at least come close.

I'd like to thank you all for joining me. Be sure to add your wrap-up link below (I want to stop by and see how you did with your reading, as I slacked off with the mid-week checkins...sorry!) and please double check that you were signed up HERE so you will be eligible for the giveaway. Please be sure to note the system of drawing winners in the giveaway details on the prize page and fill out the Google form at the bottom). And now for a big round of applause for the authors who so generously donated our prizes. I'd also like to thank Margaret at Bemused Bookworm for hosting a giveaway at her blog this week. 😇

Up next, we have the Spring into Horror Readathon which will be April 17 - 30. If you have never joined us for this readathon, don't let the word horror scare you away. I only require that one book you read be horror and I don't insist on actual horror (if you're faint-hearted). It can be a thriller, scary mystery, a Gothic novel, paranormal. If you do love the scary, then feel free to read horror for the entire two weeks.

Good luck in the giveaway to all!!! And thanks again for joining me!

Loving someone through their hard fall from grace takes a lot of grit.

In school, Toby Faye was a moody kid who sat in the back of class and looked like he wanted to be anywhere but there. Claudia might have forgotten him if it weren't for the two fatal circumstances surrounding his family. In their small town, the Faye name was infamous.

An unexpected job offer drops Claudia back into Toby's life, and that of his widowed mother. Older now, Toby is a mass of muscles and unruly hair; a real head-turner. Despite Claudia's attempt to stay away from Toby, his blue-grey eyes expose a need she cannot ignore. Toby's world is a place where sadness lingers and old wounds run deep. Touched by the family's plight, Claudia vows to help Toby and his mother move past the hurt.

When a local hate crime is linked to Toby and his friends, doubts are cast. Old friends become enemies. Animosity between Claudia's father and Toby strains the father-daughter relationship. Taking Toby's side means Claudia will be forced to face situations she never imagined. She will have to be tougher than she's ever had to be. Does Claudia have the grit to love Toby through his fall?

Award-winning author Suzanne McKenna Link brings you her powerful and moving novel set on the South Shore of Long Island. Saving Toby is the first book of a two-part story that follows the emotional and inspirational tale of a young couple's journey to find themselves.

About the Author:
Suzanne McKenna Link studied psychology in college and became fascinated by the how and why of people's actions. As a result, the native Long Islander’s characters come to life on the pages. She feels she was born to write, but her first love has always been reading, especially emotional, dramatic love stories like The Bronze Horseman and The Way We Were.

Suzanne is currently finishing up edits on "Keeping Claudia," the emotional sequel and finale to Saving Toby.

Sins of the Angels (Grigori Legacy, #1)
A detective with a secret lineage. An undercover Hunter with a bullet-proof soul. And a world made to pay for the sins of an angel...

Homicide detective Alexandra Jarvis answers to no one. Especially not to the new partner assigned to her in the middle of a gruesome serial killer case-a partner who is obstructive, irritatingly magnetic, and arrogant as hell. Aramael is a Power--a hunter of the Fallen Angels. A millennium ago, he sentenced his own brother to eternal exile for crimes against humanity. Now his brother is back and wreaking murderous havoc in the mortal realm. To find him, Aramael must play second to a human police officer who wants nothing to do with him and whose very bloodline threatens both his mission and his soul.

Now, faced with a fallen angel hell-bent on triggering the apocalypse, Alex and Aramael have no choice but to join forces, because only together can they stop the end of days.

Gwynneth Ever After (Ever After, #1)
Sometimes fairy tales do come true...

Gwyn Jacobs doesn’t believe in fairy tales. Ever since her ex-husband walked out, leaving her alone with three small children, Gwyn has been mother, father, and bread-winner all rolled into one. Her own scarred heart aside, she refuses to open up her children’s lives to the possibility of another heartbreak, and so she has an unbending policy of no dating and no unattached men in their lives.

Until her very own fairy tale falls into her lap...and the hero won’t take no for an answer.

About the author
Linda Poitevin lives just outside Canada’s capital, Ottawa, with her husband, the youngest of three daughters, one very large husky/shepherd/Great Dane-cross dog, two cats, a rabbit, and a bearded dragon lizard. Turned down in her pursuit of a police career after a faulty height measurement, Linda vicariously lives out her dream of being a cop through her characters. When she isn’t writing, she can usually be found in her garden in the summer, hugging the fireplace in the winter, or walking her dog along the river in any season.
