2024 FrightFall Readathon (and Something Wicked Fall) - Sign up for all the scary!

It's my favorite time of year! 🎃 I hope you guys are ready for some scary reading!

We start at 12:00 am eastern time on October 1st and end at 11:59 pm eastern time on October 31st. (There is a handy link to a time zone converter in the sidebar menu.) I hope you're ready to get your scary on! Guidelines for the readathon can be found HERE or you can access in the sidebar menu. Any information you need about the readathon can be found there. Please do be sure to check the guidelines to make sure you're following along correctly. There are specific rules regarding sign up and wrap up, especially in regards to the giveaway.

The one main "rule" of FrightFall is that you must read at least ONE scary book (which can be a thriller, mystery, Gothic novel, or similar for those who are faint of heart). I hope you will indulge the scary beyond the one book, but that is entirely up to you. It is all about the reading after all.

Some orders of business...

• There is a giveaway during every readathon. I offer two prizes. The first prize is a $15 social justice charity donation ( I was doing this at the beginning of the event, but I have now moved it back to the end of the event). The second prize is a $5 Amazon eGift card. Both giveaways are open internationally (for the Amazon gift, wherever Amazon is available). There will be a form on the wrap-up post where you can select which giveaway (one or both) you would like to enter. Details on how the giveaway works are on the Guidelines page.
  
  
• New this year...we are now having one 24-Hour readathon during each month-long event. The FrightFall 24-Hour event will be on Saturday, October 19th at 10:00 am EDT. I will be doing most of my updates and check-ins on Discord (invite link to our Discord). It's free to join and it would be cool to have some lively chats over there. FrightFall has officially been a part of Something Wicked Fall for seven years now. The event runs September/October over at my horror blog, Castle Macabre. We are doing a read-along of Stephen King's Fairy Tale through the end of October. We started September 1st so there's still time to join in. The reading schedule is posted on the event post, linked above and below. The first discussion post is up here (though you may want to wait until you read the first section due to spoilers).
