2023 Sci-Fi Summer Readathon - Boldly GO!

Time to start our science fiction (fantasy) month! Ready?

Since science fiction is a very specific genre, this will be strictly reading science fiction during the event. However, since fantasy is so closely related to the genre (often grouped together), if you feel more comfortable reading fantasy, that is also fine.

If you have any questions about how things work, check out the guidelines in the sidebar menu or the sign up post, or you can always leave me a comment (or send me a message via the contact form). The linky below is the same one as the sign up linky. If you do a starting line/goal post, just add your link again, but be sure to put "goal post" beside your name, i.e. Michelle @ True Book Addict (goals or reading goals).

Prizes - I always give away two prizes...a charity donation (see below) and a small prize at the end. I may have one prize donation from an author as well. Depending on how many prizes we end up with, I will either post a prize page, or I will list the prizes in the mid-event check-in post (details below).

Our social media hashtag is #SciFiJune
Our other social media:

Goodreads group
Instagram
Discord (this is an invite link. If you're already a member, you should still be able to access the server.)

All links to our social media are also in the sidebar menu.

I am no longer active on Twitter. I'm in the process of removing tweets from all my accounts and making the accounts generic (it is recommended to do this rather than delete the account so someone else can't sign up using the same name). I'm on Mastodon at @truebookaddict@mstdn.social and Spoutible at @msmwriter Also, on Instagram @truebookaddict

Win a $15 donation to a social justice charity of your choice!

I will make a $15 donation to the winner's choice of a social justice organization, such as the Ukraine relief, ACLU, Boys and Girls Club, Human Rights Campaign, GLAAD, Amnesty International, It Gets Better, The Trevor Project, Planned Parenthood, or another social justice organization of your choice (food banks, homeless shelters, animal rights/rescue/shelters would also apply), perhaps your local chapter or a local organization. This giveaway is open internationally. Note: I will not donate to any organization that does not believe all are equal, regardless of gender, race or sexual orientation.

  1. Woohoo! I started with Fourth Wing (fantasy) but just pulled Taken by Thomas H. Cook off my shelves. I'm about 40 pages through both!
