#ChristmasinJuly #Readathon - Commence festive reading!

It's time for the four day Christmas in July Readathon, today through Monday July 15 (today at 12:00 am through Monday 11:59 pm Central Time).

Are you ready? Are you sticking with strictly Christmas reading, or are you going to mix it up?

This is a short and sweet starting line post. I'm not going to have a wrap up form for this short readathon. Instead, we will just use the same linky we used for sign up, starting line, and wrap up. Just place your name with each link and add the appropriate title, like so: Michelle @TrueBookAddict - Wrap Up (or starting line).

Prize
I'm offering one Christmas book of your choice (one winner) from Better World Books ($5.00 or less) to everyone who participates. They ship free internationally so anyone can win. (Please keep in mind these are used print books.)

High Summer Read-a-Thon - Starting Line! #HSreadathon

Here we go! I hope everyone is ready for two weeks of relaxing Summer reading, with a little bit of Christmas in July mixed in! I know I am. I'm going to be busy myself over the next two weeks, as I have a lot of reading to catch up on, I'm working on my book, and other personal stuff involving doctor's appointments and school prep for my sons (they go back August 7th!), but I'm hoping I can squeeze in more reading than normal. Luckily, I listen to audio books in the car. 😁

I have some prizes lined up and I'll have the prize page posted by late Tuesday, or by Wednesday.

Don't forget, during the last weekend of the readathon, we are having a 48 hour Christmas in July Readathon! Don't worry...you do not have to participate if you're not IN to Christmas, but if you are, this is for you. Also, you can even choose to read Christmas books during the entire High Summer Readathon. I'm flexible!

My friend, author Rhonda Hopkins has two of her books on offer for free this month! Her Christmas short story, The Gift (perfect for the Christmas in July 48 hour readathon!) and her zombie horror novel, Survival. Click here to visit Rhonda's page for the details on how to grab your free eBook(s). No strings attached!

If you have any questions about how things work, check out the guidelines tab above or the sign up post, or you can always leave me a comment (or send me a message via the contact form). The linky below is the same one as the sign up linky. If you do a starting line/goal post, just add your link again, but be sure to put "goal post" beside your name, i.e. Michelle/The True Book Addict (goal post).

I will post a mid-event check in post next Sunday. Our hashtag for the read-a-thon is #HSreadathon ...and don't forget about our Facebook group!

I think that about covers it. Happy Reading!

Spring into Horror #Readathon - Let's go! #SpringHorror

Here we go! Two weeks of scary (or kind of scary) reading. 😱 I don't know about you, but I'm loving the two week format, AND I'm looking forward to Dewey's 24 Hour Readathon going on at the very end!

Just a reminder...the one main "rule" of Spring Into Horror is that you must read ONE scary book (which can be a thriller, mystery, Gothic novel, or similar for those who are faint of heart). The rest of the week...anything goes! Read more horror, or go in for less heart jolting fare.

I have a few prizes lined up donated from some generous authors, and me, of course. 😀

I will post a mid-event check in post on Sunday. Please note, I changed our hashtag for social media. It is now just #SpringHorror If you're on Facebook, be sure to stop by our group.

I think we're all set. Let's dig in and have a great time reading!

High Summer Read-a-Thon--Starting Line

Welcome to the starting line! Be sure to sign in here, at the beginning or when you start reading.  Remember, you do not have to have a blog to join us.  You can sign in linking to Facebook, Twitter, Goodreads...wherever you will be updating from.  And you don't have to start at the beginning.  Start on any day this week, or if you're working all week, join us for the weekend.  People can sign in up until Friday night at 11:59pm CST.  I'll be stopping by and visiting you so I hope you will have your book piles/reading lists posted. *hint hint*

Join us on Twitter using the hashtag #HSreadathon  We are going to have three Twitter chats this week.  I know that the majority voted for two, but I want to have one on Sunday mid-day so that International people can join us.  Here's the Twitter chat schedule:

Wednesday from 4 to 5pm CST
Friday from 8 to 9pm CST
Sunday from 12 to 1pm CST

At other odd times on Twitter, we might even have some reading sprints throughout the week.  There won't be any prizes if/when we do, but you will get bragging rights.  Just remember to have fun this week.  Again, my read-a-thon credo is "a week of relaxed reading during which we can personally challenge ourselves and whittle away those ever looming TBR piles/shelves/libraries."  I have done away with mini-challenges so we can focus more on the reading, but please do stop by and visit your fellow read-a-thon-ers if you get a chance...and again, we will also be on Twitter for social interaction.  =O)

PRIZES/GIVEAWAYS
I will have the prize and giveaway page posted during the day on Monday so come back here to find it.  I will also have easy access links at the top of the blog.  There are going to be couple of easy mini-challenges with prizes hosted by two of our participants.  I will indicate next to the person if the challenge is live or not.

Laura at Book Snob  LIVE NOW

Okay, I think that's about it.  I hope you all have fun this week.  I will be posting my updates at my blog, The True Book Addict, so stop by and visit me.  Happy Reading!
